Get prepared to deal with problems

You cannot predict every single problem and truly serious ones are only prevented with good maintenance. Though, you can eliminate problems by being prepared to deal with them. For example, keep batteries for the remote in the car, inspect garage door parts often, test the sensors and try out the release cord and the backup battery system.

Check the springs first if the door is moving very slowly

When the torsion spring gets broken, the opener may still continue to open and close the door, especially if it is quite powerful. Still, the movement will be extremely slow. When you encounter this problem, you must stop using the door until the spring is replaced with a new component which has the same specs.
